KPV
About this compound
α-MSH-derived tripeptide with potent anti-inflammatory and gut-repair signalling.
Studies indicate that KPV has considerable potential as an anti-inflammatory and tissue-protective peptide. KPV (Lys–Pro–Val) is a naturally occurring tripeptide derived from the C-terminal region of α-melanocyte-stimulating hormone (α-MSH) that has demonstrated potent anti-inflammatory activity in preclinical research. Studies suggest that KPV can reduce the production of pro-inflammatory cytokines such as TNF-α, IL-1β, and IL-6, inhibit activation of the NF-κB signaling pathway, and help modulate both innate and adaptive immune responses without causing broad immunosuppression. Animal and cell-based studies have reported beneficial effects in models of inflammatory bowel disease, dermatitis, lung inflammation, and other inflammatory conditions, with evidence that KPV may also support epithelial barrier integrity, promote tissue repair, and exhibit antimicrobial activity against certain microorganisms.
